Close to an Agreement

The Second meeting between the agitating national team players and Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on Tuesday also ended inconclusively.The cricketers were not happy with the CAN’s decision to shift the venue of the national tournament from Kathmandu to Pokhara in the run up to the Asian Premiere League that will begin in Malaysia from May 1-7.

More:Cricket association of Nepal has called cricketers for talk and it will also release unpaid salary on next week. The Secretary of board said salaries and allowances will be paid within a week and other demands will be addressed following talks. Three days back Nepal’s national players have boycotted the national one-day cricket championship that began on April 9. Captain Paras Khadka said one of the chief reasons for the boycott was that the team felt the board has been overlooking their needs. Cricket Association of Nepal also announced forming a disciplinary committee led by Secretary Uttam Karmacharya. The other members of the committee include Thakur Pahadi, Kiran Rana, Sanjeev Pandey and Diwakar Ghale. Pyakuryal also clarified that the association did not want to do refrain from paying the cricketers.
